How Our Insurance Claim Process Works
Most homeowners file an insurance claim once or twice in their lives. We file them every day. Here's exactly what we do differently.
The Standard Process — and Why It Costs Homeowners Money
Here's the typical sequence after a Colorado storm:
- Homeowner notices damage and calls insurance
- Insurance assigns an adjuster who comes out to inspect
- Adjuster writes an estimate based on what they see in 20-30 minutes
- Homeowner picks a contractor based on that estimate
- Work begins, additional damage is uncovered, homeowner pays the difference
The problem with this sequence: the adjuster's 20-30 minute inspection sets the entire claim. Damage that takes 90 minutes to thoroughly document doesn't always get caught in 25.
How We Do It Differently
We inspect first. Before you call insurance, we walk every slope of the roof, every elevation of siding, every gutter and window. We document everything with photos, measurements, and a written report — the kind of thorough documentation that holds up under adjuster scrutiny.
We meet the adjuster on-site. Standard practice for us. We walk the adjuster through every documented damage point, raise concerns about anything they might miss, and ensure the scope is comprehensive before they leave the property.
We file supplemental claims. When work begins and additional damage is uncovered — rotted decking under shingles, hidden water damage, damaged underlayment — we file supplemental claims with the insurance carrier. You don't pay for surprises.
We document everything. Every project gets photo documentation, written reports, and clean records of what was approved, what was completed, and what remains warranted. If you ever need to revisit the claim, the paper trail is airtight.
What This Means for You
Most of our customers pay only their insurance deductible — typically $1,000-$2,500 — for work that would otherwise cost $15,000 to $50,000 out of pocket. That's the practical impact of having someone on your side who knows the system.
No upfront cost for our involvement. Our work is paid by the insurance proceeds at closeout. You get the full benefit of insurance coverage you've been paying for, without having to navigate the process alone.
We don't just do construction. We handle insurance.
Most contractors finish the job and hand you the bill. We start before the claim is filed and stay through the final supplemental check.
Inspections. On-site adjuster meetings. Full damage documentation. Supplemental claim filing when more damage is found during work. We do all of it as part of every project.
Real Reviews from Real Colorado Homeowners
Very responsive! Good communication throughout the process. Even left me the leftover paint that they purchased JIC we ever would need it. I would recommend.
Mike and his team were incredibly professional and efficient. When we had 2 different properties that had significant water damage, Mike was personally supervising each crew, who did an immaculate job on cleanup and repair of extensive damage. I highly recommend them for any repairs you need in Colorado.
